Reason for Tier Placement

China is ranked as a Tier 3 country which is a country whose government does not fully comply with the minimum standards and is not making significant effort to do so.  The government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC)does not fully meet Trafficking Victim Protection Acts’ (TVPA) minimum standards for eradicating human trafficking and is not engaged in any efforts or strategies to do so which has resulted o the PRC remaining as a Tier 3 country. While China has not taken any significant steps to eradicate human trafficking, the Chinese government is engaged in various actions to deal with human trafficking such as raising awareness of the forced labor in online scams in the region. Moreover, the government has collaborated with foreign law enforcement to extradite its citizens suspected of human trafficking abroad. In 2024, the Chinese government has implemented policies which has resulted in extensive forced labor characterized by indiscriminate incarceration of ethnic Kyrgyz, ethnic Kazakhs, Uyghurs, and other minorities in Xinjiang……………Click the link to access full answer @15
