Preparing the Assignment

Follow these guidelines when completing each component of the assignment. Contact your course faculty if you have questions.

General instructions:

Reflect on the mission, vision, and values of a workplace organization and how the workplace organization addresses a culture of excellence. Note: you may use the same workplace organization that you discussed in this week’s Collaboration Café.  

Include the following sections (detailed criteria listed below and in the grading rubric):

1. Use Canva.com or another platform of your choice to create an infographic. View the video below to learn more about using Canva.

1. Ensure the infographic is readable.
2. Ensure the infographic is well-organized and easy to follow.
3. Correctly cite and reference ideas and information that come from scholarly sources of information. Include in-text citations and list references at the bottom of the infographic. 
4. Follow rules of grammar, spelling, word usage, and punctuation consistent with formal, scientific writing.
5. Abide by Chamberlain University academic integrity policy.
6. Submit the completed infographic as a PDF or JPG file to the assignment Dropbox.
7. Submit a screenshot of the completed infographic.

1. 1. Highlight the date and time your infographic was created as shown in the image below.
   2. The submitted infographic must match the screenshot and reflect the current academic session.   

Include the following sections/headings in the infographic. 

1. Culture of Excellence 
   1. Explain the concept of a culture of excellence in healthcare.  
   2. Identify three specific organizational characteristics or practices that reflect a culture of excellence and briefly describe each characteristic or practice. 
   3. Discuss how a culture of excellence is significant to your selected advanced nursing role in one or two sentences. 
   4. Provide support from at least one scholarly source.   
2. Mission, Vision, and Values 
   1. Describe the mission, vision, and values of a selected healthcare organization (note: the organization you choose must have all three elements: mission, vision, and values statements).  
   2. Explain the interrelationships of the mission, vision, and values in one or two sentences. 
   3. Describe how an organization’s mission, vision, values, and organizational structure contribute to organizational culture in one or sentences. 
3. Leading a Culture of Excellence  
   1. Describe how the advanced nurse leader can leverage the mission, vision, values, and organizational structure to create positive change in the organizational culture in one or two sentences. 
   2. Identify two leadership strategies the advanced nurse leader can use to support a culture of excellence and briefly describe each strategy. 
   3. Provide support from at least one scholarly source. 

Conflict

Preparing the Discussion

Follow these guidelines when completing each component of the discussion. Contact your course faculty if you have questions. 

General Instructions:

Conflict is common in healthcare settings. Common team sources of conflict include hierarchical relationships, authority differentials, poor communication, negative or disruptive behaviors, and multigenerational interprofessional teams.   

Include the following sections: 

1. Application of Course Knowledge: Answer all questions/criteria with explanations and detail. 

• 1. Describe a conflict you have encountered in your nursing practice. Identify the roles of the stakeholders involved. Do not identify the stakeholders by name.  
  2. Analyze how the conflict was resolved. Which conflict resolution style was used? 
  3. Evaluate the efficacy of the resolution. Was the conflict resolution style used to address the conflict the most appropriate option? Why or why not? 
  4. Identify and describe your preferred mode of conflict resolution.

1. Integration of Evidence: Integrate relevant scholarly sources as defined by program expectations:

• 1. Cite a scholarly source in the initial post.
  2. Cite a scholarly source in one faculty response post.
  3. Cite a scholarly source in one peer post.
  4. Accurately analyze, synthesize, and/or apply principles from evidence with no more than one short quote (15 words or less) for the week.
  5. Include a minimum of two different scholarly sources per week. Cite all references and provide references for all citations.

1. Engagement in Meaningful Dialogue: Engage peers and faculty by asking questions, and offering new insights, applications, perspectives, information, or implications for practice.

• 1. Peer Response: Respond to at least one peer.
  2. Faculty Response: Respond to at least one faculty post.
  3. Communicate using respectful, collegial language and terminology appropriate to advanced nursing practice.

1. Professionalism in Communication: Communicate with minimal errors in English grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation.
2. Reference Citation: Use current APA format to format citations and references and is free of errors.
3. Wednesday Participation Requirement: Provide a substantive response to the graded discussion topic (not a response to a peer or faculty), by Wednesday, 11:59 p.m. MT of each week.
4. Total Participation Requirement: Provide at least three substantive posts (one to the initial question or topic, one to a student peer, and one to a faculty question) on two different days during the week.

Impact of a Leader

General Instructions:

Reflect upon a leader or manager who positively or negatively impacted your practice. Do not identify the leader by name. 

Include the following sections:

1. Application of Course Knowledge: Answer all questions/criteria with explanations and detail.

• 1. Describe the impact on your nursing practice.
  2. Discuss the impact on the practice environment.
  3. Analyze the individual’s leadership skills using either the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) or the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) leadership competencies provided in the Week 1 Explore lesson.

1. Integration of Evidence: Integrate relevant scholarly sources as defined by program expectations:

• 1. Cite a scholarly source in the initial post.
  2. Cite a scholarly source in one faculty response post.
  3. Cite a scholarly source in one peer post.

Client Satisfaction

General Instructions

Consider the client satisfaction data currently analyzed at your workplace. If you do not have a current practice location, select a local healthcare facility or provider to answer the questions below.   

Include the following sections:

1. Application of Course Knowledge: Answer all questions/criteria with explanations and detail.

• 1. Describe one tool used to measure client satisfaction. 
  2. Discuss how accurately client satisfaction scores reflect quality in the organization.  
  3. Analyze the strengths and limitations of using satisfaction measures for quality improvement. 
  4. Analyze the strengths and limitations of using satisfaction measures for reimbursement. 
  5. Describe the ethical considerations that should be considered when using client satisfaction measures to drive financial incentives in the healthcare industry.
