Crisis Ready Model
Phase 1: Audit- Organization’s current mindset and culture
Things to review- situational analysis –internal strengths and weaknesses
- Before the crisis, how prepared was the organization?
- Proactive vs. reactive culture?
- How flexible is the organizational structure?
- Growth or Fixed Mindset?
- What resources were available or could have been allocated?
Phase 2: Understand the different variables and impacts
Things to review- situational analysis –external threats and opportunities
- Did the organization properly diagnosis the situation?
- Was there a thorough grasp of the situation?
- Did all decision makers know their roles?
- Were all decision makers empowered to make decisions?
- What could have been done?
Phase 3: Identify your high-risk scenarios and stakeholder expectations
Things to review- analysis of the issue
- Was the root issue addressed or just the symptoms?
- Were the issues addressed material or immaterial?
- Triage the situation? Did all minds come together? Explain
- Were all the potential outcomes addressed? Explain
- Who will be affected (internally and externally) and how?
- Was the reputation of the organization damged? If yes, has it recovered? How?
Phase 4: Design your action plans and communications strategies
Things to review- action and communication plans
- Was negative impact reduced?
- Were all the relevant stakeholders acknowledged?
- Were the communications channels utilized effectively?
- Was there control, flow and accuracy of information Y/N; if yes, how effective
- Supporting rationale:
- Were there any ethical concerns? Explain
- If you owned this company what would you do?
