GROUP PRESENTATION

CLO2: Evaluate political intelligence (PI) and the role it plays in leadership, managing self and others, and influencing and delivering on performance.

CLO3: Appraise personal resilience (PR) and its links to EI, working under pressure, stress management and work life balance.

Scenario

You were recently promoted in your job whereby leadership, managing yourself and others, and influencing and delivering on performance are key elements to your position. However, dealing with the pressures attached to this demanding position, coupled with your responsibility

to family life requires you to have strategies to cope and be resilient.

As a consequence, you are now evaluating how you can be more politically intelligent to manage your team and other stakeholders, while at the same time find strategies to make you more personally resilient.

Tasks

  1. How might you apply Political Intelligence (PI) to positively influence others and improve on performance while you are feeling the pressures of your role
  2. Describe how Emotional Intelligence (EI) may play part with being resilient
  3. Discuss Positive Psychology and its relationship to being resilient
  4. What Personal Resilience (PR) strategies will you employ to be more resilient to managing the stress and pressure of work to establish a work/life balance.

Your presentation must use the RA template provided and include the following:

  • Introduction
  • Application of Political Intelligence (PI) to influence and perform under stress
  • Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Resilience
  • Positive Psychology and being resilient
  • Personal Resilience (PR) strategies to establish a work/life balance
  • Recommendations
  • Conclusion
