Preparing the Collaboration Café

Follow these guidelines when completing each component of the Collaboration Café. Contact your course faculty if you have questions.

General Instructions

Consider the quality measures that are currently analyzed at your practice location. If you do not have a current practice location, select a local healthcare facility or provider to answer the questions below.  

Include the following sections:

  1. Application of Course Knowledge: Answer all questions/criteria with explanations and detail.
    1. Describe one clinical client-focused quality measure currently analyzed in your practice location. 
    2. What data is collected, and from where is the data taken?  
    3. Who is responsible for data collection, analysis, and reporting?
    4. How is the data critically evaluated to accurately reflect the desired care outcomes? Who makes the decisions to apply the data to practice change?
    5. What are advanced practice nurses’ key challenges when evaluating quality measures in healthcare settings?   
  1. Engagement in Meaningful Dialogue: Engage peers by asking questions, and offering new insights, applications, perspectives, information, or implications for practice:
    1. Respond to at least one peer.
    2. Respond to a second peer post.
    3. Communicate using respectful, collegial language and terminology appropriate to advanced nursing practice.
  1. Professionalism in Communication: Communicate with minimal errors in English grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation.
  2. Wednesday Participation Requirement: Provide a substantive response to the Collaboration Café topic (not a response to a peer), by Wednesday, 11:59 p.m. MT of each week.

Total Participation Requirement: Provide at least three substantive posts (one to the initial question or topic and two to student peers) on two different days during the week.
